About me:
I am Prossy Nanyombi a female bird guide based in Uganda. I am the vice chair Uganda Women Birders Club, a club that we started in 2013 to help bring women on board in the male dominated field (guiding). I lead and guide birding trips through Uganda. I pay attention to details with a high ability in identifying birds by ear/sound. I am passionate about conservation and pay huge respect to nature. I’ve been in Uganda in December 2020 (just before Corona) and she guided me! She is an excellent Birdwatching Guide and knows the songs and calls of Birds very well!! So I really can recommend her!!! Prossy took us, a bunch of seasoned bird guides, on a 2 week trip and she proved to be the best guide I’ve had! Serious yet charming, knows her birds very well and remarkable patience! Love her and she made me love Uganda too!

Prossy is one of the most knowledgable guides I've ever been with in the field... shew knew all the vocalizations and stake outs for all the birds and made our trip a fantastic one... we were part of a famtrip offered by the UTB and we were all bird guides in our own countries and she had the talent to read each of us and offer us a tremendous experience... not only she is good with the birds and landscape of her native Uganda, but she does know her mammals well. I was lucky enough to be in an international group of top world birdwatchers and international guides being guided by Prossy during the African Birding Expo in Uganda in 2019. In all my global travels I can say that Prossy ranks as one of the best local guides I’ve ever had. Her knowledge was outstanding and her love of her country and it’s stunning wildlife shone through during a simply wonderful two week tour of Uganda. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
