About me:
As a certified professional bird guide in Ecuador with over a decade of experience, I have had the privilege of leading birding tours across Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, showcasing the rich avian diversity of one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. My work allows me to share my passion for birds with people from all walks of life, while promoting conservation through responsible ecotourism.
Guiding is not just about identifying species; it’s about creating a deeper connection between people and nature. My tours focus on interpretation and storytelling, helping visitors not only spot unique species, but also understand the ecosystems they inhabit. I specialize in birding the cloud forests, tropical rainforests, and coastal regions of Ecuador.
Beyond Ecuador, I have birded in over 10 countries across the Americas, from the temperate forests of the U.S. and Canada to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. This international experience has deepened my understanding of bird diversity and migration patterns across the continent.
As a polyglot, I speak five languages—English, French, German, Italian, and my native Spanish—allowing me to connect with birdwatchers from around the world and offer tours in multiple languages.
I am also involved in national bird education efforts, including coordinating the Programa de Aves Urbanas (PAU) Ecuador and leading the UrbanOrnis initiative. UrbanOrnis aims to connect people with urbanornis bird conservation efforts, fostering greater awareness and appreciation of local wildlife in cities. Through this initiative, alongside the PAU, we work to ensure that birdwatching remains a tool for conservation and a positive force for both nature and people.
