Seasons
- The best time to visit this park is during the summer months. Due to its high elevation, this location has a high diversity of breeding songbirds. Some species that are more common at higher latitudes can be found here such as juncos, Golden-crowned Kinglet, and Alder Flycatcher.
- Spring and fall migrations can be productive, but not exceptionally better than anywhere else in the area.
- In the winter this can be a great spot to try for nothern finches during irruption years. Crossbills and redpolls can be found by the lucky birder traveling here in the cold. The feeders at the park office (map) can be good for Red-breasted Nuthatch in the winter.
