This is one of Canada's best birdwatching sites. Any time of the day is good, but it can fill up in the afternoon, so arriving at opening times is advised.

There are sevaral well maintained gravel paths around the site, though they can sometimes be closed due to flooding or bird nesting.

A scope is advised, especially for looking at distant shorebirds in the ponds.
