Both areas are located on the lower part of Lake Thun and are under nature conservation. The Gwattlischenmoos is a wetland with a reed belt and shallow water zones. The Kander delta is a river delta surrounded by floodplain forest. The area is easily accessible by public transport and is always good for surprises.

• have a limited distribution range and/or are rare on a global level
• are most sought-after by birdwatchers at this site
• and are relatively easy to see at this site (year-round or seasonally)

The key for the observation tower can be borrowed at the reception of Deltapark. The path following the Kander river is not so easy to find because it's behind two small earth heaps.

The key for the observation tower can be borrowed at the reception of Deltapark. The path following the Kander river is not so easy to find because it's behind two small earth heaps.

The Gwattlischenmoos is a good spot for dragonflies.
