Visits throuhout the year with daily rain in the afternoon for 1 or 2 hours. It is advisable to spend at least 1 night at Tambunan town then drive up to the forest reserve early in the morning.

Best birding site at one of the bird hide for the Bulwer's Pheasant and along the access road for Whitehead's Spiderhunter, Bornean Bulbul and Bornean Frogmouth.
