The Misnebalam road is a very productive area near Mérida and Progreso, a road with pastures and ranches on one side and dry forest on the other side makes a good combination for both endemic birds and migratory species. Saddly not a protected area, real estate developers are threatening this place.

Typical bird species at the Misnebalam road include the endemic Black-throated Bobwhite, Orange Oriole, Yucatan Jay and many more. Also this is a very good place for flycatchers, orioles, raptors and migratory birds like warblers. If you're really lucky  you may be able to see an Ocellated Turkey or a Lesser Roadrunner.

If you only want to see the endemics, summer is a very good time of the season, anyways this place is usually very productive at any time of the year.

Mornings are way better than any other time of the day. Not really good for night birding.

No stores or anything to buy near there, so take enough water and a couple snacks.

The best way to do birding here is to go driving slowly on the road and make stops wherever you see there's good bird activity. You're not allowed to go inside the ranches without permission.

Give recommendations for making your visit as productive as possible.
This may include for instance:
• best season
• best time of the day
• how much time to spend at the site
• best means of locomotion within the site
• recommended routes / areas within the site
• guiding

The entrance is not really obvious so I'll recommend using the gps to search "Misnebalam Pueblo Fantasma". From Mérida you have to take the Carretera Merida-Progreso and turn right just before the detour to San Ignacio Dzidzilche.

There's no way to go there using public transport unless you pay a taxi cab which is probably kind of expensive.

Explain from where and how to get to this site with private and public transport.
